I was pretty skeptical of Smith because really had just one 3/4 of a season where he put up big numbers. But talked myself into him being the player I am most excited about.

You particularly, he’s going to drive insane with his mistakes. Start readying yourself now.

It’s worth it to me, because he is going to be exciting when he’s on.

His A:TO for his career has been outstanding. 2.5 TO with what he did facilitating last year is incredible. Not sure what makes you say this.

Looks like Marillac has half of a case.
In Smith's first 2 year in college, his A:TO was a pedestrian 1.4.

HIs last two have been about 2.8 - 1 both years, his second year @ Ga Tech and last year at Utah.

I’d say that pedestrian is a rough characterization for a freshman with a 1.7 A:TO ratio. Sophomore year was really the only time it was sub par IMO. Just not someone I’d say had a track record of recklessness is all.

Really at this point, what he did his first two years is irrelevant. Players improve as he did and Wilcher will this year. Especially regarding a stat like A:TO it's often something that gets better with maturity.
He plays very fast so I'm sure he'll have some turnovers/offensive fouls and the like but that A:TO ratio the last two years is fabulous so not worried. I think he and Scott are going to be huge additions.

Good point Amase.
His A:TO ratio was sub par only his first year at G Tech.
He's been an excellent PG since.
Can't wait to see him create with this team.

Larry Wright has historically disliked players that put up wild shots. That’s the other side of the fast twitch coin. His mistakes will look bad.

I’m perfectly fine with that. As long has he’s getting into the lane and drawing defenders I’ll take some occasional wildness.

My like and dislike is hard to quantify lol. Loved Marcus Hatten, liked Ponds. If had to point to one thing I dislike besides bad form on a jump shot of course is pounding the ball as a point guard. See Geno, Phil Greene and Jenkins for half of last year.

Sounds like you like great players and dislike mediocre-to-bad ones lol
