Great evening last night.
Had the great pleasure of sharing the event with fellow grads, Fan Since 65 and Bill The Truth.
CJ Nitkowski, who spent 10 years in The Majors (with 10 teams) was a fantastc MC.
A very quick and razor sharp wit.
He will be inducted into The St. John's Hall of Fame this year.
CJ is "doing" analysis for FOX and can also be heard on XM Radio.
Coach Blankmeyer was honored for his 20 years as varsity baseball coah. No baseball coach has won more than he.
The University created an excellent tribute video featuring many of Coach Blankmeyer's former player's singing his praises. It was extremely well deserved.
SJU ranks in the top 10, ALL-TIME, in WINS in NCAA baseball history. Very impressive, particularly for a Northeast school.
Joe Panik and Jacob DeGrom were great very gracious to attend and speak to the group.
CJ kidded that he spent a decade in the majors and Rich Aurilla spent 15 years in The Show , and have no World Series rings.
Yet, Joe Panik spent less than half a season in "the big's" and not only has one but was fawned over by Erin Andrews and Heidi Watney !!!
At least 250 attendees at The Hotel Edison Ballroom. Food and service was excellent.
President Gemepsaw, battling jet lag after a trip to China, was at the event.
Last, but not least, SJU and New York Met Hall of Famer John Franco attended the event.
John is an exceedingly loyal alumnus. A great St. John's man !
Fr. Rock, asked to keep Coach Kaiser in your prayers as he is in the hospital for pneumonia as well as his wife, Connie, who is also facing her own health challenges.
