Defense 2024-25

The biggest change I noticed in the Rutgers game was the defense (despite giving up way too many points). We're long and quick. Unlike last year, every single time the ball went into a corner any corner we double teamed!!!! We used the half court line and the sidelines and the end lines to bring added pressure. The defense has the chance to be a turnover machine. It looked to me like we are several months ahead of where we were last year around this time.

He has emphasized being ready to go by Nov. 4, working more on team concepts and teaching his offensive and defensive system than individual skills dating back to the summer.

This team will ride its defense, turning defense into easy baskets will very much be a key to the season.

We also benefit from having three starters coming from Ross Hodge, Craig Smith, and Sha. Three coaches very defensive minded coaches with results to match. That in combination with their size and length, we should have a tremendous upgrade in defensive results.

Defense will determine how far this team goes. Pitino has never been an offensive guru.

We need to put a pace on teams and create easy points. Turn teams over and get to the charity stripe.
