Decommits due to Coaching Changes

Sometimes a new coach comes in and decides he wants to go in another direction than with a recruit who gave a verbal or signed an LOI .  Lavin not letting Ron Roberts (St. Joe's) out of his LOI and pursuing and getting Dewayne Polee and Chris letting Mark Daugherty (VCU and Auburn).

Lavin "not" letting Ron Roberts out of his NLI?

He did release him.  That is why he went to St. Joe's.
Typo on my part.  Should have red read:

Lavin not letting Ron Roberts (St. Joe's) out of his LOI and pursuing and getting Dewayne Polee and Chris letting Mark Samir Daugherty (VCU and Auburn) out of his.

Thanks Paultzman and Fordham.

I could be wrong, but I recall RR not wanting out of his LOI, , but rather Lavin wanting him out. If my memory serves me correctly, that turned out to be a boneheaded move on Lavins part as we could have really used a solid 4 year front court player.

I’m really hoping this is sarcasm as i know we we were recruiting Kofi but figured he wanted elsewhere.  Please don’t tell me we actually had a shot and stopped recruiting him.

No I think they're just quoting the usual post decision rationalizations of our fellow posters where an all world talent becomes a useless waste of skin once they decide to go somewhere other than STJ.
