From what I gather the young man has spent the entire summer in Taffner working on his game. U have to admire this kids work ethic.. he's a throwback. I say put the ball in his hands and watch him lead us to a big east title and POY honors.

Are you suggesting that they transfer him to PG like they did Dwight Hardy?

Lavin has been quoted this summer as saying Dee is working on his PG skills.

D'Lo will play a bit of Pg. Branch will come in later in year. Greene will get a bit more time at SG which is probably good for him too and can work Balamou in at SG as well. Should be a dynamic backcourt.

What wonderful problems to have.... how things have changed........

I know. Sounds like the OP is saying to make him a full-time PG.

Well thats not happening with a Top 50 PG in Branch. Unless he absolutely bombs. But sure might be the idea for the first part of the season and also makes us all feel better when Branch needs a blow or might be in foul trouble.

If he's great at the position and we are winning he should stay there.

ON the negative side, if he WERE to be great there, he'd be gone for sure after this season. :sob:

similar to D Buckets for sure.

I think Lavs has two things in mind:

1. best player with the ball in his hands more.
2. givin' him a chance to showcase skills that could give him a shot in the nba due to his height.

i think DLo has solid passing ability/court vision.

maybe he relieves Branch at that spot if nothing else during games, 10 mins perhaps? DLo will still play a ton of minutes I think. He earned it for sure.

If he is going to make the NBA it wii be as a PG. Remember he has a brother with legal problems so the money imay be needed for appels and could be one of the reasons he is working so hard

If he were to have a great year as a pg I think he has a shot to leave. But even then I think he has long odds.
That might be an unpopular opinion, but we'll just have to see.
Hope I'm wrong though.

Long odds? DeAngelo can be a strong point guard plus his fierce competitiveness on defense and offense will be welcomed by the NBA teams. I expect him to continue shooting lights out next year. And why not?

If he leaves then that means hes a hybrid PG and to me then it must mean we had a pretty damn good year.

The problem is that there aren't many slow guys in the NBA these days, and Harrison is not the most fleet of foot.

Most scouts/GMs are afraid to think outside of a narrow box for fear of losing their job, so despite all of his positive attributes, Harrison may have a tough road ahead of him. It's nice that he pretty much has a 15-year European career ahead of him, though, if the NBA doesn't come calling.

Not to rehash, but I bet D'Angelo plans on making a jump to some sort of pro legue after this season. Ready or not, I think it's his plan. Lavin will play him a lot at pg and he certainly can play there. It certainly is a good problem to have. We'll see how effective he is until Branch comes aboard. I just think it will be hard to keep Branch out of there because he's much more of a pure type PG and isn't as interchangeable as Greene or Harrison. I'd love to have Harrison for longer. Just skepticl we will.

Jack, I like the player, but what's up with the lights out shooter? Lets hope all his guard skills improve. If DH were to be considered a legit NBA prospect after 4 years at SJU it would be wonderful news for the young man.

Thanks moose... and I guess the answer is YES, I am suggesting they "transfer" harrrison to the PG spot. B)

Hoops 49', he scored most of his points with outside shots not layups. I expect him to be our go to guy as well as an improved three point shooter.
