In what I believe is a great move by Coach Joey T he has hired former SJU great Da 'Shena Stevens, one of our all time greats, as an assistant coach.
Da'Shena was both an excellent student and a great player from 2008 - 2012. I love the fact that we are turning to our own to fill key positions at SJU. I happen to think she will be a very strong recruiter for the program.
Looking forward to posting more good news in the near future.

Always good to see former players come back to the fold
Aubie, has she been playing overseas the past few years?
Who is she replacing from last year's staff?
Any recruiting nuggets that you can share with us?

And if we don't take care of our own...we should do any and all we can for former players and students and "milk" it for all it's worth - meant in the best, noblest of ways!
A win-win for alum & school. Goodwill, good highlighting of SJU.
all the best

We have taken care of our own on the men's basketball side
We have employed Mel Davis, Billy Schaeffer and Bernard Rencher among others
Not withstanding our new men's basketball coach (what's his name???)

True MR
but one area for imprivement - I'm repeating myself - acknowledging former players who care enough to return to watch games - let's give them a shout - we never do!
I'm sure under Chris many things will change for the better!
Thanks again
all the best
Let's go SJU baseball!
