Dante Restaurant Closed

I was driving along Union Turnpike.on Sunday and noticed a for rent sign in the window of Dante Restaurant. Dante's has been open since 1953 and is well known to be a personal favorite of Coach Carnesecca's. I looked inside the window and the restaurant seemed to have all of its fixtures and decorations still there. Also their website, danterestaurantnyc.com, is still up with no notice of them closing down the restaurant. I am assuming that they have shut their doors recently. Does anyone have any knowledge of when they closed? It is sad to see a fixture of the neighborhood shut down after all of these years.

It's sad if true. I actually have never been there but it should have been on any fan's bucket list. Carnesecca was so superstitious (the sweater, mass every day but only during the basketball season, etc) that Dante's was a necessary part of game day ritual.
