Most of the talk on this board lately seems to have been focused on Dom Pointer & Phil Green VI, and Ryseed. I just wanted to remind all of the importance of DLo to the success of our program and to the need for him to finish out his career strongly if we are to advance in the tourney.

There is no one I would be happier to see play in the tournament than he.

Truth be told . He has played erratic lately. Zero FGs in both GT games. Im not sure how much his injuries play into this. I believe the success of our season depends on how healthy we are . Hopefully DLO will bring it tonight, because we cant bring in Branch.

Healthy or not, he has to be smarter than he was against Georgetown picking up 2 fouls in under 30 seconds.

Easily should have just let the second one go.

As a senior, he has to realize how important he is big picture.

CO played really smart late in the same game letting some easy layups go when we were up and he had 4 fouls.

I hate to say this, because I've really come to like D'Lo, but he doesn't play defense well. Usually, he stands too high on whomever he is guarding and doesn't have the foot speed to move with his man. Consequently, he gets a lot of reach in fouls trying to guard guys who have beaten him on the dribble.

This team loses the X game at MSG without his gritty performance in the second half. The team looked towards him and he delivered. He was not going to be denied during the key stretch when they took the lead from Xavier.

If he's playing on a bad calf it's going to affect his movement.

He's also playing on the back line of the zone or vs. the SF in man2man most of the time. That really is out of position but required based on the makeup of the team. A lot of his fouls are ticky tack slaps when he drops into the lane to help. He gets some steals and strips that way but like others have said, you have to be smart and not put yourself on the bench.

I thought some of DLo's teammates were reluctant to pass him the ball in the closing minutes vs Gtwn.

It wasn't as bad as the obvious attempt to keep the ball away from Balamou in one stretch.

To me that was a positive.
