Daily News- St. John's Courts Great Expectations

Some interesting info in that article. I don't know where zach gets his info, but he says that Jordan hasn't practiced with branch yet and they don't expect to be on the floor at the same time. But he may play with Phil at times. Also, Jakarr says Rhysheed could be the starting pg before long.

A lot of us talked about Jordan as a combo threat, but it sounds like coach might be grooming him to be a pure pg. And coincidentally, it sounds like Phil has been relieved of pg duties, and will just play off the ball.

I'm amazed you were able to get that paragraph. I read it 3 times and it didn't make much sense to me. Hearing a player won't practice at the same time as another players is pretty unusual. I mean at some point you could have them on the court. It just doesn't make a lot of sense if that is in fact what Rubin tried to say there and how it was interpreted.

I'll read the article later but it is a mistake not playing branch and rusher together. Need as much skill as possible on the court together.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it.
But I interpreted it as they're running with different units in practice. Ones the first string pg, one runs the second unit. But youre right, it's not like they are quarterbacks...perfectly reasonable to expect them to play together at times this season.
Strange quote.

They probably are primarily running separate units in practice at point guard, but it would be a little surprising if they weren't getting some reps together. At this point you're trying everything in terms of possible lineups, and not using them together would be too rigid, especially for Lavin who has shown himself to be particularly fluid in terms of mixing and matching combinations. He started them together in a game in Europe so I think we'll see them out there. Dee mentioned it in one of the articles, Jordan is a ridiculathlete. You look at some of his dunks on YouTube and it's quickly evident.

Dee mentioned it in one of the articles, Jordan is a ridiculous athlete. You look at some of his dunks on YouTube and it's quickly evident. In team photos he seems to be the tallest of the guards fairly substantially, almost more towards Dom's height. Definitely capable of playing the 3 in a 3 guard set. So I hope we see he and Branch together, as Mase mentioned above they are two of our most skilled players.
