I think he would make a good one. Smart, passionate kid with high basketball IQ

i love DLo and of course he is biased cause he is so close with Lav, but does he really not understand why it was time to part ways... DLO gave us great years but Lav had nothing coming after him

I don't think it was an easy decision for SJU to fire Lav. He had brought us back to respectability and competitiveness, but clearly there was no upwards trajectory after the initial success. The rosters were incomplete and shallow, but he did bring in some really good players. Overall not just enough

I love D’Lo. One of my favorite players at SJU. Warrior... like Lavin too, but I think he became a bit paralyzed after his illness and didn’t have quite the assistants nor the drive at that point. I think he’s a genuinely good dude and I like lavs and he had the right idea. Just wasn’t ready for the long haul..

Having had the opportunity on a few occasions to spend time with D’Lo ( just look at my avatar ) I can tell you the kid worked out day and night to get where he got. He has a fantastic work ethic and is very intelligent and articulate.
He has continued his playing career in Europe but will not become rich from it and will have to fall back on a career when his playing days end. He is a student of the game and a great ambassador of SJU. Having said that I would have no problem with him starting out at an entry level position on staff one day.
I firmly believe he would do a great job both in preparatory coaching and in recruiting.

His grandmother told me he's always wanted to be a broadcaster. Then again a while back someone tweeted to him that he would make a great addition to staff one day,and he said he would love that

Have to love this guy! A true SJU success story!

D'Lo is truly our prodigal son. Dozens of really good players who starred for us but never caused a peep of trouble are not nearly as revered, just as the older brother in the bible story toiled in the fields without ever causing any grief . I suspect that without coming within a hair of being thrown off the team by a very tolerant Lavin, he may not have been so esteemed in our eyes.

As he finally was able to corral his anger and channeled it into focused, hard nosed basketball, he won over legions of us who cheered not only his basketball, but rooted for him as a person too. We've said it dozens of times - some coaches in esteemed programs may not have tolerated him and rather than give him a second chance with conditions, would simply have banished him. Granted, Harrison did all the heavy lifting as part of his transformation, but Lavin had some pretty thick skin in dealing with his players, and as a result, is extremely well liked by almost all.

I have nothing but respect for guys like Harrison, Pointer, and Greene. 4 year guys who were rewarded with a trip to the dance in their final year after all the hard work. Loyalty should be rewarded, hopefully SJU would look to take care of their own if the opportunity arises.

Love this kid. Hope he comes back to SJU basketball in some way as he has that fire and love for the school and program that very besides people on this board have. Broadcasting he’d be great at because he’s really funny and has great personality for the camera. Either way, SJU basketball would do well with him around...
