Cuse Game

I was checking out the box scores from this weekend and thought this was interesting since our bench is so thin. Cuse played 19 guys in their blow out win vs Colgate-- i'm stunned he even carries that many players.

Should be a law against that

Have you ever noticed so many players on a BE team

Harvard has TWENTY!

St. John's situation is rare indeed since Norm Roberts was allowed to create a rebuilding situation while knowing he was toast. If there was ever a case of "recruiting malpractice" Norm is guilty! Lav did a great job of recuiting only talented players but the gamble with Jakarr and Norvelle is a bummer. Two very important players with marginal academics.
Then again, can anyone imagine what the 2011 class would have looked like had Norm Roberts stayed??

As far as Cuse, I hate their f n guts! Boeheim is an arrogant POS and I hope they suffer the fate of BC once they are in the ACC/Big East North!

I've always thought that trying to recruit 10-13 All Americans is foolish. If we had a few solid role players right now we would be oh so much more flexible and competitive. After all this we still don't have a zone busting shooter? How is that possible? We also don't have a solid point or a backup center. Why? Guys like that have been on the benches of every team we've played, good and bad, this year. We'd better get our noses out of the air recruiting-wise. We have enought talent to compets now but they're overexposed PT wise for lack of a bench.

Bobre, it's only for one season and because we had a few guys ineligible the last minute. We'd have that center on board if Pelle had been here. Only thing we'd be missing was that PG, but from what I've seen Lindsey and Greene have been doing a pretty good job of it as has Stith. Pg play has not been our problem at all.

I really hope it's only for one season. I don't think Pelle was goint to be a true 5 anyway. I'm talking about those 6'8-9" white guys who can knock down threes and board a bit. Not pros just useful players. We just can't win with today's rules unless we can hit some outside shots. Even with the offensive fouls the refs have been very fair with us granting all the free throws we've been missing. That will not always be the case and we're in for some rough nights unless things change.

Pelle would have been as true of a 5 as we would have in Lavin's system. Pelle was a 6'10" athletic monster. You still have to remember that our collective shooting as a team is very limited due to the fact that we only have half a roster and ALL of them are playing their first season in D1 ball, essentially freshmen. Most teams have a mix of upperclassmen who's shooting improves over their career. We don't have that luxury. We have some guys that can hit outside shots like Greene, Harrison and Harkless. They won't be consistently good shooters until a year or two under their belts at this level though.
