Current Live Recruiting Period

Friday night’s field featured a variety of potential high-major targets along the frontline in the class of 2023 including St. Benedict’s Ladji Dembele, Our Saviour Lutheran’s Youssouf Singare, George School’s Kachi Nzeh, and Springside Chestnut Hill Academy forward Al Amadou.

Not surprisingly, there was a long line of coaches on hand to evaluate each of them, undoubtedly comparing and contrasting each to see how they rate within their own program’s board.

St. John’s head coach Mike Anderson, Marquette head coach Shaka Smart, and Seton Hall head coach Shaheen Hollowaywere all on hand along with assistants from UConn, Providence, Virginia, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State, and others.

Sense Gertrude may be “easiest” of the three guards who visited recently to close on, but we’ll see;

Just that Shoes got on this one early and apparently has solid relationship with him as well as his HS coach. We’ll see if that means a lot though as his recruiting plays out.
This makes me happy because when he first started getting mentioned I got the feeling that he'd be better than Demary, but thought we had no chance with him.

I do love that our coach is one of the most well respected in the country. Haven't had that in a while.

Mike was at Top 100 Camp with Demary & Brandon Gardner participating

This is what Jarrett Sutton had to say about Mike Anderson in an article he wrote in 2018 describing how he went from being a walk-on to being awarded a full scholarship at the University of Missouri when Anderson was the head coach there. Great story.

"I learned so much about myself as a collegiate athlete. I was lucky to have come across Mike Anderson, someone I still look up to today. He gave me an opportunity, a chance to earn it by how willing I was to go the extra mile. There was no easy path, no hidden door, no recruiting ranking or AAU story of how he found me. Persistence, perseverance, determination, a goal and dream, a belief in yourself to earn the right to be a part of something that is bigger than yourself. It’s lessons that stay with me today. The journey was hard, it was long, it was challenging, it was a mental and physical grind that was ruthless at times but so worth it in the end."
