Should we be concerned that De la Rosa didn't put up many points when facing a guy almost as tall and within 40 pounds of him? Like the rebound numbers, though.

I will always have concerns about him, until he gets into better basketball shape. He has made strides, but must commit himself to taking that to the next level.

IMO he's going to have trouble offensively against guys close to the same height as him unless he gets in better shape, learns how to use his bulk better and becomes more assertive. But in fairness to him, he's on a team loaded with scoring options and a team that runs a lot. And he's usually the trailer on any offensive possession. Always is on a break.

If the kid can rebound and make that quick outlet, I can wait for the rest of his game to catch up. Next year, his role should be defined as simple as that.

100% agree. With only Sampson and Obekpa (maybe) coming back next year, SJU needs size down low. Delarosa will not come in scoring 10 ppg, but he's a big body who could give us valuable minutes fighting for rebounds down low.

Based on the comments on this board, his game is rough and it's tough to argue that. But we need size and he could fill a void for us.

I'm all for having him with St. John's, but I don't think he'll be much of a factor for at least 2 years.

Naclerio is probably the best PSAL coach in terms of recruiting like the CHSAA teams do. Getting kids to move into his district is one of his best talents.
