Deserve a lot of credit for being classy after a loss. Can't remember ever reading posts like these by UConn or Syracuse fans after a loss or even some of our current members. The following are what some of the Creighton fans posted on the Holy Land of Hoops site after the game last night:

Good game Johnnies. Knew it would be a tough one.
Credit to SJU, they played a nice game
Johnnies D was pretty great
SJU defense very impressive tonight. Completely took Wragge out of the game and really denied McDermott's opportunities in the second half.
Great defense by SJU tonight. We never found our shot, I think because the guys were uncomfortable all night.
Congrats St. Johns...free throws killed us. Onto butler....Go jays!
Great game Johnnies. You're definitely becoming the type of team I was afraid you would be.
Congrats to the Red Storm for a great effort!
Congrats SJU. Wish we'd have caught you at MSG early when you guys were struggling.
That was a fun game to watch. Congrats St. John's you played tremendous defense and had a nice mid range game this evening

The ones that were at the Garden last night were very respectful, and that is after a tough loss.

That's a lot different then we've been hearing about Jay fans. Good for them; nice, honest comments.

Agree, NYC. While there have been a few whiners (every board has them! ;-)) for the most part, their fans have been pretty objective about the game and pretty incisive too. They seem like an intelligent fan base and I for one, am glad they're part of the new BE. 'Cuse and Pukon fans would have been singing a very different tune!

That is a massive trip to come to NYC and enough of them did to make noise.

Forgetting about what they posted, which is nice to hear, in a city of 400,000, 20,000 fill that arena. That is 5% of the population of Omaha. Don't tell me there is nothing else to do there either - they still get the same 200 channels on TV that we get, and what we call frigid weather, they put on their summer clothes for.

Great fans, welcome to the Big east.

And Coach McD gave coach Steve a big time hand shake and a nice exchange. He didn't run off. Big time guy.

I could not tell from my seat, but that is good to hear. Unlike the handshake between Lavin and Cooley.

Top 5 fan bases compared to population in NCAA basketball
Kentucky Wildcats 67% (Lexington)
Louisville Cardinals 58% (Louisville)
Syracuse Orange 49% (Syracuse)
Ohio State Buckeyes 46% (Columbus)
Memphis Tigers 41% (Memphis)

In other words. 49% of the freezing upstate New Yorkers have nothing better to do in Syracuse but follow
the Orange.

They will be more dedicated then ever to keep a Big East program top notch. Xavier and Butler too. I think the 7 brought in the right 3.

I just noticed that watching the replay of the game that ended at 4:00. There were a few SJU fans last night in our section that could use a lesson or two on how to behave. One kid clearly couldn't handle one beer before the curse words started, including calling McDermont a pussycat, minus the cat. Security came over pretty quickly.

Uconn fans are the worse, I don't have the same venom for Cuse fans since I live in CT and have worked with many Cuse grads. Uconn fans foremost part do not jack about there squad. They are clowns who wear baggy husky sweatshirts smoke marlboro reds and drink pbr while playing the slots at Mohegan. The only Uconn fan I liked was Alexd.
