My dad is a volunteer firefighter 50 years this year so this was a great find by you.

Trips like this make anyone more well rounded and give people a better appreciation of other people.

Thanks for the story and great job by the program.. St. John's has a long history with graduates serving in both the FDNY and NYPD (I went to school with several who wound up in those services).  

FYI, Michael Weinberg, a SJU grad and former member of the baseball team was one of the first Firefighters identified after the 9/11 attacks. He off was and at a golf course in Queens when the first plane hit. He went to his firehouse Ladder 1, Engine 24 on 31st and along with Father Judge and an off duty Captain (I am sorry, his name escapes me as I type this) rushed down to the site. His body along with the Captain was found under a fire truck where they apparently tried to find cover as the first tower collapsed.
