Kevin is absolutely one of the nicest people around. His generosity to SJU is not the least bit self serving. He is doing some amazingly generous things that are low key, and I will not embarrass him by making them public.

If you read the above, listed link, you will see that the school is also honoring Jim Riley. Jim has quietly resumed his generous support of the school over the past several years, and now that Harrington is gone, it is really nice to see the school turn the page and give him the accolades he deserves for his enormous generosity.
 
Congrats, JSJ (and others being recognized). Thanks for your efforts to make St. John's a better university.

And I can confirm MJ isn't just blowing smoke up your butt, because when I met him, Ted, and OWCA out in California after the USF game, he specifically said that you were a great guy. :cheer:

JSJ will be honored by St. John's at a packed Waldorf Astoria dinner this week at the President's Dinner. Bruce Beck will MC the affair, and it will be an opportunity to hear Pres. Gempesaw speak publicly about SJU mission. Perhaps he will shed a little light on where the university is heading, but more than likely will be simply reinforcing the values that guide the school's mission.

JSJ will also be speaking as part of his acceptance of a President's award. He is among our very best posters of course, and manages to avoid the fray that many of us get caught up in.

Rumors have it that JSJ will use his speech to promote Redmen.com.

Congratulations Kevin. You make Redmen.com better, and to a much larger extent make the SJU community a lot stronger.
