This has been inevitable for 20 years or so. The hope is that these conferences say to the NCAA accept our terms on football and we'll stick around for the rest of your sports.

No. But it will be the end of amateur collegiate football. Tons of legal issues. The BCS blowhards want no rules, no real students but still will claim they are colleges.

If a split in football occurs then Yukon and others will be screwed.

Don't be surprised to see football powers Yukon, Temple and Sincinnati to be attempting to bolt the lightweight AAC for a spot in the Big East.

This is what Coach K was seen, literally, snickering about when it was announced Syracuse and Pitt would be coming to the ACC. The goal is to be bigger than the NCAA, to have a super Division 4 organization that sets its own rules, controls its own destiny, and sucks up as much money as possible. So much for a Butler, a George Mason, a Gonzaga, a Georgetown, St. John's, or Villanova competing for a national title. If you're not a Division 4 school, you won't count. That's their goal.
