Coach Carnesecca's B-Day Is Jan. 5

I would mail it to St. John's, C/O The Athletic Department.

I think it would be awesome as a fundraiser to have the biggest birthday party ever for Coach C. I bet we could draw 4,000 for an event that was affordable.

I agree, may be too late at this point to put something together, but plenty of time for something to celebrate the big 90 next year.

That would be awesome. I would gladly donate to such a worthwhile cause.

Although it's been said before, it's worth repeating. Coach Carnesecca for most of his life, has simply been the best ambassador this school could ever hope for. Far more than simply being a HOF coach, he has represented everything good about St. John's with grace, warmth, and affection. We are fortunate to have him with us for this long. Others may have made more money, others still donated more. None, though have given more to St. John's than Looie. God bless him, today and always. Happy birthday, Coach.

Happy birthday, Coach
Thanks for all of the wonderful memories that you provided to all of the fans of St John's basketball

Happy Birthday Coach!!
Thanks for all the joy you have brought, and for giving me a love for the game!!!

Was at Antun's in Queens Village for Coach Kaiser's and Coach Carnesecca's joint birthday party this afternoon.

They are the heart and soul of St. John's University.

Great day despite the weather. Over 200 attended.

Among those at the event were Fr. Levesque, Fr. Rock, Dean Simon, and Fr. Dorr

Lav and Coach Keady were there prior to heading to practice.

Among the players that were there included: Johnny Warren, Mel Davis, Billy Schaefer, Jayson Williams, Terrance Mullin, Frank Alagia, Ty Grant, Wayne McKoy, Bernard Renchner, Rob Cornegy, Carmine Calzonetti, Richie Jackson, John Farmer, Jeff Allen and George Johnson.

A number of Baseball Alumni were also there including the captain's of the 1957 team (Mr. Kaiser's first as Varsity coach) and the 1973 team (his last, before becoming AD).

Chatted with The Maven.

Pictures will be on redstormsports.com in the not too distant future.

The St. John's Alumni Facebook page has a clip of the event.

happy birthday to coach .He has always been a wonderful representative of St. Johns and is also one of the most recognizable people in the USA . His appearance at the redmen.com event in the late 90's was a highlight for our group .

You might say that Kaiser and Carnesecca are the heart and soul of the university. I'd like to correct that: Kaiser and Carnesecca might be the HEART of the University, but Father Jim Dorr is the SOUL. There is no other Vincentian that is more human, warm, and exemplifying of the school's Catholic tradition. He is a treasure who hasn't held major office at the school, yet still is known by almost everyone in the SJU community. Great man, and amazingly ageless in his early 80s.
