Jack Kaiser turns 94, on Tuesday, from what I understand

If you are so inclined please consider sending him a birthday card care of St. John's.

He is, without a doubt, the Saint in St. John's.

As a baseball alumnus under Jack I am not a bit surprised at his age. Here's a gentleman who never raised his voice to his players or even some terrible umpires. Happy Birthday coach.

A very good man. Happy Birthday Mr. Kaiser.

One year younger than Coach Carnesecca and six years younger than my father.

Jack went to St. John the Baptist grammar school , St. Johns Prep and then SJU . A true Vincentian . He was always a gentleman to me .

This is a great Jack Kaiser story . For me , at least . Back probably in 1979 , a Work colleague and I went to a Syracuse - G’Town game at Manley Fieldhouse . It was the last game to be played there , prior to the Dome . Anyway , the Hoyas won 60-59 spoiling the Orange’s final Manley game . After the game , my friend and I hopped over to a place called Scratch Daniels for a Post Game beverage and a bite to eat ., No sooner then we get inside and who is at the next Table but , Jack and Carmine Calzonnetti . I introduced myself and they invited us to join them . So for the next couple of hours , we had a great time going down Memory Lane . It’s time to go and I ask for the Check , the Waitress says NO, Mr Kaiser has already paid the Check including yours ! Boy , was that Great or what ? Class Guy , all the way , Jack Kaiser !
