Last night the Clippers crushed the Lakers by 48 points. The game wasn't even as close as the score indicates.
Last year I was in Los Angeles, and had time to take in a game. The Clippers were playing at Staples in the afternoon, and the Lakers at night, also at Staples. I opted for the Clippers game, partially because it worked much better with my schedule, and partly because the tickets in the nosebleeds were only $5 on stubhub. I was glad I did. The Clippers have a large and loyal following (even last year), and are a talented team led by Chris Paul. This year, with or without Kobe, they have broken through as the best team in LA. After a long agonizing history, it's nice to see. The Clippers fan base appears to be working class, and at least in my seats, the ethnic diversity of fans was awesome to see, especially when compared to the suit and tie types in corporate owned seats at MSG.
