After the Mussini verbal, our class ranking jumped 8 spots to #33.

#13 Marquette
#25 Georgetown
#29 Nova
#33 SJU

Signed Letter of Intent:
LoVett (#92 on 247 Composite/ #110 on 247)
Williams (JUCO- #9 on 247 JUCO Composite)
Ellison (#187 on 247 Composite/ #95 on 247)

Hard Commits:
Mussini (#83 on 247 Composite/ #103 on 247)
Sima (#194 on 247 Composite/ #144 on 247)

Note: this doesn't include transfers like Johnson.

Getting one or both of the final two commits would help our ranking significantly.
Rowan (#39 on 247 Composite/ #62 on 247)- would be our highest ranking recruit
Papagiannis (#88 on 247 Composite).

I think if we get at least one of the two we'll finish top 25 in the rankings (especially if we get Rowan we should easily be top 25). Most other teams are done with recruiting and these rankings are impacted more by quality rather than quantity. Great class so far with potential to be something very special.

I agree. This is a really impressive class considering the situation. They basically had to recruit an entire roster. I'm impressed and excited to see what they can do when they actually have time on their side.

Thought I read on 6-25 that Papagiannis signed with a team from his country and was off the board??

It's amazing to reel in the 33rd best class considering the extremely late start. To me at least, I'm hoping that nearly all are serviceable, and perhaps one or two players can be starters on a ranked team. That would set the table nicely for subsequent recruiting classes. When you throw in how well Mullin balanced this with players with limited eligibility, this is simply outstanding.

Your signature is AWESOME.

I agree, the new staff has done a good job in the short time they've been here.
You have to take our ranking in context though, we are relatively close to Villanova and Georgetown because of the sheer number of prospects we've signed.

But they have classes with multiple 4 stars and above. We don't have a player like Brunson or even Jessie Govan in the fold.

We're doing OK. But showing us at 33, and them at 29 and 25 shouldn't make anyone think we're loading up with comparable talent as of yet.

This is partially true but the 3 Big East teams above us basically have one major player each and after that the players are comparable to what we have. If we get Rowan our ranking will raise a lot because the rankings are weighted more heavily towards quality rather than quantity.

I'd say if we get Rowan our class will be best in the Big East.

While Lavin appears to have put most of his effort into 4* players, he then filled in with 1 and 2 start players at best. You can argue whether they were 1 or 2 star or less in the 8-12 roles, but you can't argue that against top competition, they were all pretty worthless. Hopefully the guys Mullin has brought in will all contribute.
