Thanks MR!
I have Cablevision a package - I wonder if I have access to showtime - I've never used that channel...
And yes - could we have had better exposure and positive pub than these past 6-7 months? I don't think so - wonderful, priceless!

As you are probably a time traveler from the civil war era I can tell you that if you don't know if you have showtime you probably don't as it is a premium channel and costs about $15 per month extra. All the best! :) :) :) :) :) :)
PS: do you know Icabart Crane from Sleepy Hollow? Thanks!

I work out, pray, eat apples so " looking real good" but age 66
Maybe older :)
Let me put it this way guys & gals;
Washington Irving and I were friends
Stephen Crane - all St. John's fans should love him - he enrolled at then quit Syracuse ( Red Badge of courage)
My great kids (ages 24/20) get on me e.g. I didn't know who French Montana was- AND I don't want to know
Let's see what other silliness/history I can add 1.get up to change channel - really Dad?
Yes no remote control TV shut off entirely about midnight - my age peers know this
2.yes I did use books in law school ( to my kid in law school where apparently books are not in vogue)
3. Computer at West Point was size of the Alumni Hall snack bar (sans lobster rolls of course)
4.no PB channel not my style
5. Grew up when "suck" was a bad word & now one kid gets on me as these words "fbanws different words do not mean anything Dad, get over it..."
6.balling had nothing to do with hoops

Thanks for all the enjoyable posts above - AND - for one game this season I'm dressing in a "Sherman Sheridan Grant tee" so some of you might be gracious enough to walk over and say hi...
All the best

PS whose the handsome soldier in the pix above?

CBS News national correspondent Jim Axelrod takes viewers inside the St. John’s men’s basketball program in Tuesday’s episode of 60 Minutes Sports on SHOWTIME. The feature premiers at 8 p.m. eastern and centers around first-year head coach Chris Mullin’s return to St. John’s 30 years after leading his alma mater to the highest point in program history.

Axelrod discussed the past, present and future of St. John’s basketball with Mullin, and made a visit to his old neighborhood in the Flatlands section of Brooklyn where the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer guided a tour around Troy Avenue. The in-depth profile by the award-winning 60 Minutes team, produced by Rome Hartman and Jack Weingart, will re-air nine times on SHOWTIME in December. The episode will also be available on-demand through SHOWTIME ANYTIME.

I'm a mix of excitement and dread on this one. It will be a great discussion of the local-hero-returns-home and I have no doubt Chris will shine. Any parent, kid, college hoops fan who watches it is certain to leave with a bit of excitement about where our program is headed.

On the flip side, we all know how these stories work. To set it up, we're going to have to hear about the "demise of a once-proud program", our "scandal-ridden recent history", and the "mom-and-pop operation tucked away in the shadows of Manhattan."

While there is some truth in all of it, I'm not expecting an outsider to get it quite right. Stories are too often told in black/white or good/evil context and I have a feeling we'll get a little bit of both.

That said, I love that Showtime is doing the story and I'm confident that a follow-up three years from now could paint a picture of a program that is in great shape and source of pride for the school, alumni and city.

I believe he purchased a home in Roslyn, Long Island!

As with any celebrity, wealthy man - he apparently has "Homes" because Chris has been out in the Sag Harbor/Sagaponack South Fork area

Thank you Mr. P for discussion for those of us sans Showtime - :(
and - yes Section 9 current avatar General Sheridan who was diminutive and probably would be a ball boy not our starting PG - of course way pre- Naismath!!!
all the best

Maybe visiting the Board of Trustees member with a huge waterfront compound on Ferry Road.

For your Optimum Subscribers, Channel 321 which broadcasts in HD.

It's Manhasset. I live there and have seen him a couple times on the Main street and in the Deli. Conveniently I have been wearing my SJU gear both times.
