Chris Mullin and Kassoum Yakwe Favorable Comparision!!!

While visiting mom soon-to-be 90 year old mom in a Queens (of all
places) Veterans' nursing home, I came up with this brilliant :) topic!

Using my "rough" memory and "rough" statistics and a quick sketch:

In Chris' first college game he scored about 14 points in about 20+ minutes
In that first SJU season he averaged about 30 minutes per game and 16 points per game

Soooo
Young Mr.Yawke in 18 minutes with 9 points would average about 15 points per game (if he played 30 minutes per)

Pardon any imprecision in my part - seems it's all good, close to being accurate and...

Wow do we have a player in our midst!!! Yawke could be a mirror of his new coach...not the next coming of Mullin, but possibly in the ballpark.

PS fwiw posted this w/o even knowing the St.Francis game was on...didn't know what Yawke would do in his 2nd game :)

With all due respect, there is no comparison between Mullin and Yakwe
They have entirely different games
Mullin was a shooter; Yakwe is not
Yakwe is a rebounder and shot blocker; Mullin was not
If you want a comparison, Yakwe reminds me of Beaver Smith
Athletic, tough defender and rebounder with very limited offensive ability

Number one I have acknowledged that many posters know a lot more the details basketball and basketball acumen whereas I tried to bring a little historic and poetic perspective

number two I did not say Yorky was Chris Mullin but was trying to make an analogy with the first game of Pro-Formance for minutes played

number three it's good to be exuberance about any and all positive signs in this first year
Especially after reading today's knew your post article and seeing Chris's quotes

number four I actually don't drink much but as soon as I'm home I'm going to go to the corner bar and Sag harbor and order a bourbon and ginger rail and a large salad

Number five I deserve at least one thank you

You come across as a good guy, SSG, so I'll give the one "thank you" you feel you're deserving of. That said, I wouldn't expect too many more.

I think I did mention I was texting/talking/driving so - with me anyway - the words do not always come out correctly

I'll commence self-imposed banishment until Yawke leads the team in scoring for one game - I know it might be a while...perhaps a long while

Just wanted to let you know that the Thank You on this post from me was not for your intention to refrain from posting for penitential reasons. In fact it was a slip of the finger. I find your sublime optimism to be a breath of fresh air on the forum. So, keep posting.

Thank you very much qcredman...I did take some of the critique to heart, have never been fond of critiquing or being critiqued...many soldiers, including Mr. Grant, are sensitive souls hence not suited for politics or similar arenas.
Furthermore I do not know the main players on this board here so never know what to make of their comments...not being an insider...have a great holiday season...hope our paths cross at a game..,maybe one in which Yawke excels

I think our player will be a good one as I belatedly tried to refer to Chris Mullin's own praise of Yawke.
