Charles Mineland

Is the dude playing for SF his kid? I assume so......

Mineland just erupted onto the scene but his recruiting is about to blow up. My west coast sources say he's an explosive player capable of great bursts of energy.

Paul claims Singleton and Glover's sons are better. :)
I hope one day Mineland's son gets the chance to beat up Donny Marshall's son.

He was recruited by Columbia I believe & followed the coach who took SF job. This is right level for him IMO.

How old are Singleton and Glover's sons?

Was a joke. Paul loves Singleton and my argument was similar sized guys like Minlend were better.

Of the many what if's that have plagued this program, one that never gets mentioned is Williams getting hurt his senior year. Frontline was 6-11, 6-10, 6-8 with Boo Harvey at the point. We wound up getting cheated in 2nd round vs Duke but if Williams was healthy would have had better seed and avoided them that early.

Not to be the spelling police, but his name was is and I assume always will be Charles Minlend. Not Mineland.

Hey, we should get his name right.

Was flipping around the dial while driving a few weeks back and happened upon a USF game. Literally the first thing I heard the announcer say was "And that was an ill-advised three by Minlend."

People are just finally spelling Mullin correctly. We should just be happy with that.

Relax, everyone: they're not misspellings; they're alternate fact spellings. ;)

As usual, arguing with yourself. Minlend also one of my favorite players. The smart, 100% all the time guys that make the team better, will always be at the top of my list. You can have your all world talent guys that make ESPN and play defense when they feel like it.

No. My point on original post was we need a more dynamic post player to be good. Glover's, Singleton's and Minlend's are nice complements. Of course that type would help this year but honestly we need more to be good. Next year I think Clark basically fits the bill but he is not enough.

I do think however that of the number of undersized 4's we have had over the years that Singleton and Glover are held in higher esteem than other guys who I thought were better.

Plus now just messing with you.

I preferred Fun's approach to this, but yes.

Charles Minlend was one of my absolute favorite Johnnies.

Couldn't agree more. As an example, we demolished UCONN before Williams went down, beat them by over 30. That UCONN team went to the Final Four. For me, it is not that we would have had a better seed with Williams, it is that we would have had Williams. Think about our Final Four team without Berry, hard to see that as a FF team.

Before Williams injury that 1990 team was loaded.
