Was at a St. Louis, where Van Macon, was an assistant coach and after leaving DePaul he is now at a Junior College where Demeo coached for several years before coming to SJU.

Is there a game of connect the dots here and is he an option for 2020?

I remember watching this guy abuse Seton Hall inside last year in St. Louis' win at The Rock and saying I wish SJU had a 6'9 rock and inside presence like that kid!!!

Thought no transferring within conference. Not sure if stop at Juco changes that.

"Gordon won’t be able to transfer to a Big East school, per conference rules. While he never played a game for DePaul, if you sign a National Letter of Intent with a Big East school, you can’t sign with another Big East school, like Tremont Waters when Creighton expressed interest in him."

I believe this rule is voided now he's attending JUCO. Although, I could very well be wrong here.

Ridiculous rule to prevent a kid going to a school of his choice especially in this situation. With the liberalization of transfer rules by the NCAA the BE needs to take another look at this rule and then change it. It should be about the kids it's not like conference schools will try to raid each other. Presently if a kid wants to transfer we are insuring another conference benefits not the BE. What a stupid rule.

I believe you are right, I've never heard a situation of a JUCO player being restricted in where he can go. Also, I'm pretty sure the rule restriction just applies to his next stop. So for example, if he would have transferred to an ACC team, then transferred again when he got there, he could transfer back to a Big East team, but wouldn't be able to transfer to an ACC team.

Doesn't happen in other conferences without the rule and so what if a kid wants to transfer to another conference school as long as he is subject to NCAA transfer rules that should be enough. STUPID RULE!

I'd think you'd feel different if you were a DePaul fan and this kid put up a double double on you for two seasons.

It has happened in this Conference and that is only when a kid verbals and then changes his mind and picks another school which has happened in one case a matter of days and in another due to a “coincidental” meeting in a barbershop months later. Of course the rule was put in place prior the barbershop meeting and again doesn’t prevent verbals from happening but it has been deemed better to have the rule than run the chance of having in-fighting among the schools and the possibility of accusations of other things.
