I stumbled across this interesting thread about Carnesecca Arena in the main forum but as I'm apparently still only allowed access to post in Rookie Forum (hoping to get called up soon !!!!!) , I thought it was worth reviving here to get others inputs

As I live out of state now in NC, I don't get to many games except when visiting family in season and dates work out.. But I did get to go to the Creighton game at CA a few days ago and took my 12 yr old daughter for her first visit to the campus and game.
I spent a lot of time in Alumni Hall in '94-'97 years as a student working in the Athletic Dept. As I walked my daughter around the campus before the game, I shared what was new from when I was a student 20 yrs ago (Taffner, D'Angelo, dorms, new soccer and baseball field).....
I like Carnesessca Arena for the history and fairly small feel to it... I don't think we need a complete new facility especially with MSG for big games, Taeffner for team practice/training/staff etc.
When we got into CA I think she was expecting to see more....she asked that if St. John's is known for basketball why was the arena seating so bad with plastic bleacher seats (we had lower level Section 2 next to the band). Had some of the same answers others noted in the thread linked above ,and yes their has been some improvements to the facility but it did still leave me hoping that one day CA does get a more legit facelift with better seating structure and more prominent student seating So many ways to get students to the games... I'm sure they are trying, just not sure how consistently. Next year will be telling.
Ah... the joys of being a starving SJU alum and fan !!!!
