Calhoun was on WFAN this afternoon.

Said that even after he retires from coaching he will still have influence over the program.

Also said that UConn may be able to play in the tournament next season.


Interview to be replayed at 6PM for those who care.
 
I heard a little of it and it was a disgraceful butt-kissing session in which Calhoun took every opportunity he could to market himself. Not that Lav doesn't do the same thing, but he's a whole lot more likable than Stuttering Jim. OTOH for all that he's a drunken thug Stuttering Jim can coach the heck out of a team.
 
 Francesa always kisses up to Calhoun. In one respect I dont care about UCONN and want their ship to sink. on the other hand as UCONN is going to be one of the big name remaining schools in the BE, I dont want it to fall into oblivion. Let them stay relatively competitive
 
Does anyone remember Francesa's outbursts after our BE tourney game against NJ State? He was telling everyone from the Marinatto down to Marinatto's dog groomer that the ending of that game was a travesty. They should replay it. It was unfair to NJ State. Blah, blah, blah.

As if a sporting event has never had a poor call in a crucial moment.

Now after uconn program has been hit with sanctions, Francesa just lets Calhoun slide along in the interview.

Francesa is no different than any other sports guy who has his friends and protects them whenever possible.

He is a gasbag.

Mike is a big phony that yrs ago pledged to start a scholarship in his mothers name at St.J's
& of course he never followed thru with the grant.
What kind of man fakes that promise in his moms name ? :eek:hmy:

He has always been nothing but hot air...brings little value to sports talk radio..always wrong but never in doubt...and you know I dont mind any of that (many of the local talkies are lacking) but it is the condescenidng way he treats callers.

he will probably mention stony brook instead :nerd:
He loves wearing his hofstra jacket but never seen him wear any johnny stuff maybe they dont make xxxxxl :lol:
