I just received my latest Verizon Fios statement and, to my amazement, there was a credit of $29.36 for the reduction in live sports on SNY and YES. Not sure if it's a one time or ongoing credit. Whatever it is, I'll take it. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up so you can be on the lookout from your cable providers.

I got this credit as well which was surprising considering my cable bill is astronomical. The old days of threatening to switch cable providers does not work in lowering your bill anymore so I am stuck with Fios as Optimum just has too many problems for my liking :) I have been flirting with the whole cut the cord thing but just not sure what is the best streaming services out there that cover most live TV and sporting events and the cost? Anyone on here cut off cable completely ? :)

I only have a choice of Fios and Spectrum in my building. When I moved in 4 years ago I decided to try Fios. After 2 years I thought about switching to Spectrum to save some money, but then decided I didn't want to risk having to rewire my entire apartment. At that point I had 3 cable boxes and Cable/Internet/Phone bundled. Last year I got rid of 2 cable boxes and only have the 1 in my living room. I also scaled back on the TV channel package. If I want to watch TV in my bedroom or home/office, I bum Netfix off my daughter lol. My bill went from about $250.00 per month to $180.00 per month, Still way too high IMO.

I tried downsizing on the cable and Fios told me my bill would go down by 15 dollars if I switched to basic cable.! At that point I just gave up :)

Need legislation that will allow the consumer to choose programming ala carte. No more having to buy the hallmark channel and YES network in order to get the Golf Channel.

Recently changed from regular Optimum service to Optimum Altice for TV, Internet and phone.
Slightly cheaper but much better service.

I got the credit as well. Thanks for letting me know what it was for. It is shocking that Verizon gave that to us. I am trying to think of ways to cut the ridiculous cost of FiOS once my kids go off to college but it seems difficult as my two options are Spectrum and FIOS. Two of the channels I watch a lot are SNY for
The Met games and RedZone on Sundays. Those channels seem to be a premium.
