Just listened to an interview with C.J. and Al Leiter on The MLB Channel.
C.J. is attempting to make one last comeback to The Big Leagues this year.
Turning 40, he hopes that he gets an invite by a MLB team to Spring Training.
Was with The Met's for a very brief time last summer.
Is working on a "side-arm" delivery.
Has been working with former Met pitching coach Rick Peterson.
Didn't realize it, but he was a first round draft pick of the Reds (9th pick of the draft) out of St. John's.
Said he thought he would have had a "different" career as a starting pitcher given where he was drafted.
Apparently he is very active on Twitter for those who care.
Al Leiter asked him about the new MLB rule that lets an interperter come out to the mound with the manager/pitching coach.
C.J. , who spent a few years in Japan, among other places, said that when he was pitching in The Land of the Rising Sun, the interperter, for the Japanese team he was playing for at the time, told him that the manager wanted him to pitch PERFECTLY.
C.J. told him if he could do that he would be pitching in The Major Leagues !
