Flew back from Southwest AZ/ Cal
Sat next to TJ Leaf tall PF from Foothills Christian in Calif
Very nice young man w/his mom
Said he opened his recruiting after committing to Arizona
knew all about Chris Mullin and expressed excitement and felt from his view SJU recruitment was back on the map - thought a certain local that he's played with would commit here - of course who knows...
He said he was #9 on ESPN poll
Just enjoyed chatting college BBall with a blue chip from 2016!
I saw a few other recruits on the flight with same Under Armor black shirts. Thought some here would like to hear this story. Again he certainly knew about SJU and Chris.

It was Rawle Atkins he Leaf alluded to.( Rawle hasn't signed yet, correct?)

Yes but he said I could wear my steel pot (Army helmet)
I also said he should walk over to an SJU coach but he noted it might violate recruiting rules - if you see Leaf on our sidelines

I reflected back to the negative posts on this site that went along this line:
Well HS recruits won't know who Chris Mullin is!
Well parents of recruits won't know who Chris Mullin is!
Such adamant, inaccurate BS!!!!!!!
Mr. Leaf knew exactly about our coach and our program - and he's a 17 year old boy from southern Cali!
Pervis Ellison of course knew!***

***we fans should be like him concerning the wondrous direction of our program: never nervous - we are in the big time not in the peanut gallery if you know what I mean.
