Brandon Hendricks

[quote="Moose" post=391301]Horrible story.
Mention of SJU. Likely confusion over scholarship and preferred walk on but still tragic. I believe he was close with Posh.

A young man who I have mentioned for many year (he now plays basketball at Fisk) knew Brandon very well.

I spoke with him this morning and he was crying throughout our conversation

Said Brandon was an only child and a great young man with a very bright future

Also said his mother was very strict

He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time

A tragic, senseless and devastating loss

R.I.P.

The Daily News and NY Post wrote articles in the last hour that he was still deciding on college and the News said he was considering a JUCO in California. Seems like he wanted to continue playing basketball. Again really sad.

Horrible. Am I the only one concerned that New York City has regressed back to the late 70's and 80's with the scum and how that can turn off recruits? Where have you gone, Rudy Giuliani?

Tragic story. I feel for his family.

It hasn’t regressed to anything like the 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s. But it is sliding backwards and if not careful and diligent, it definitely can and in a relatively short time.

All are senseless, but this one hammers the gut--given the comments about this kid's character.

Tragic and heart wrenching. Prayers for the soul of this young man, and for his Mom and family.

This is where taking to the streets by protesters in minority communities could make a difference but whether it is Chicago where the murder of minors is breaking records or NYC, they are nowhere to be found when clean cut kids like this are the victims. It pisses me off that these types of killings stay mostly in the local news.

Another victim of murder is an 8 year old black girl shot while riding in her mother's car right near the Wendy's in Atlanta where the police shooting took place a few weeks ago. Her father is asking if her black life mattered to the protestors.

Amazing this suspect was out on the street with his recent prior criminal history especially considering the unfair criminal justice system.

None of what's going on is surprising to me. We've been heading in a very dangerous direction for a while. DAs in the 5 boroughs have been going soft on gun possession and violent crime for years. Gonzales in Brooklyn is particularly soft. It was only a matter of time. The release of violent criminals under the guise of Covid, was the tipping point. IMO It's going to get worse, much worse.

Black man crossing street holding 6 year old daughters hand shot to death by man in car who pulled up alongside them. Daughter ran for her life and survived. But have no fear as Manhattan D. A. is charging the the unhinged white woman dubbed Karen for filing a false report. Let's hope she gets put away so we can all feel safe in the shooting gallery formally know as NYC.
