Boubacar Diakite

Figured he would still have 5-6 years of eligibility left. ;) Good luck to the young man.

Had he not suffered that injury, he could have been a great asset for us
Glad to see that he has landed on his feet
Wishing you the best of luck at Weber State!!

Doubtful.

I wish him all the best.
But to date, OSNA has not been the basketball factory it has been built up to be.
Diallo, Yakwe, Obekpa, Balamalou

Who built it up? It is what it is and they produce D1 guys at a pretty good rate. Obekpa was better than any big on our roster right now and probably next year too. Diallo didnt stay in college long enough to show what he could do, but he's an NBA player right now so not sure what you mean. Tabor went there too before going back to CT. Arent we hoping to get Kuminga who is a stud. OSNA is a solid prep program and they help out a lot of african kids which is great. Glad that we have a solid connection with them we dont seem to have too many of those at the HS level.

I would be surprised if Obekpa started on this year's team. One dimensional player. Blocks, not a rebounder or scorer.

Averaged 7 boards a game his final year here. Along with 3 blocks and a steal a game. Enough said.

It produces great athletes, but the fundamentals are definitely lacking. But it's unlikely that the school president would fire the head coach, mostly because they are the same person.

[quote="Paultzman" post=325910]Nice article noting he had knee surgery recently. This kid deserves good fortune going forward;

Yikes, a torn ACL after recovering from the patella tendon surgery? I would be surprised if he ever plays again in college.

From what I’ve heard and seen from his original injury/surgery, I’m surprised he even got to play at the JUCO level.

If Owens came back he would of easily been our starting center. So whoever he was starting over would be your answer for Obekpa. This team would of probably won 11 or 12 games in this years BE if we had either one. If I had to choose I would pick Simon to be the 6th man. He fits that role the best due to his positional versatility. He can backup positions 1-4 if needed. Heron and Figueroa already provide adequate defense on the wings and are better offensively. Clark would actually play his natural position and would hopefully foul less. Ponds - Heron - Figueroa - Clark - Owens/Obekpa is a much better lineup than what we have this year don't you agree?

My comment was concerning Obekpa. He could not start on this year's team.

Sometimes ya just gotta laugh. Wish this were night-time, so I could have some vino with the chuckle.
