Boston College

Boston College is on the verge of doing something no major school has done in 40 years - lose every single conference football and basketball game in the same school year. If they lose to Clemson today, they will accomplish this "feat". They were 0-8 in ACC football games and would be 0-18 in ACC basketball games. They would be the first school in ACC history to "go for the bagel" in both sports in the same school year.

The last time this happened was during the 1976-77 school year, when TCU went a combined 0-24 in the Southwest Conference. The next previous "Power 5" school to achieve this dubious distinction was Georgia in 1943-44.

As the old adage goes, "no matter how rough things are, somebody is worse off than you are"

B.C. started the exodus of the Big East for the football dollars and they are probably cashing bigger checks but they have become invisible on the college sports scene.

Think their fans regret the move to the ACC?

Diehard fans, maybe. Everyone else I'm sure, including students and athletes, are loving upgraded facilities and campus. President and BOD I'm sure are loving the cash.

I'm inclined to look at our own challenges. Let others struggling attend to their own. :)

If you are talking about the original Big East members, you are right but only because at the last minute Syracuse was turned down after being courted. Miami and Va. Tech were the first two. Va. Tech only because UVa got several schools to vote down Cuse and instead vote for Va. Tech. Cuse had their bags packed. Not much later when the ACC decided to go from 11 schools to 12, they picked BC who openly lobbied the ACC touting that their academics was a fit to go along with their athletics (like Miami had done previously).
