Been dealing with this MONSTER for a long time. Was scared to admit something was wrong with me. Felt weak and useless. Skip Bayless words about Dak Prescott hurt to my core because I’ve always felt less than! DEPRESSION IS REAL! I’ve finally said it!

When people are weak please don’t discount how they feel. I was that person until I understood what this monster is. An 1,800lb silverback GORILLA constantly telling me I’m nothing and nobody! And me believing him. I’m only sharing to hopefully heal.

While my memories of athletes publicly facing behavioral health conditions goes back to Jimmy Piersall, the courage of our own Ron-Ron (Metta World Peace) is no small thing in making room for recovery and hope.

The invisible but real disease that many suffer from.
My Dad fought the Japanese in Burma WWII.He like many veterans came home with malaria, jungle rot and extreme anxiety. He suffered in silence.
When I was an Army lawyer I was assigned - late 1970s - to represent veterans to improve/upgrade their discharges - the hearings were in the World Trade Center and ZI often wonder what happened to all those good federal workers there
Well, the board of officers hearing each case could relate to physical wounds, missing arms and legs, facial scars - but just as important to me was to explain and prove trauma, fear and mental and emotional wounds - I do not use the term "mental illness".
Today the military (so many good aspects to the military and law enforcement officers) recognizes and offers help sans disgrace to people suffering from anxiety.depression, cognitive issues.
Unlike my Dad and other veterans and plain old American people,
DO NOT SUFFER IN SILENCE!
Whether you had family abuse, military trauma, severe car accident or a child who is ill - give yourself some nurturing and help.
God bless us everyone.
