Boeheim Talks Mo, Louie and St. John's

A good read. Said some nice things about Looie, had good advice for Moe, and spoke I think very accurately about our team....Enjoyed the article.

Very good article.

Q: With accusations that surrounded assistant coach Bernie Fine and the issues with drug testing, how trying has this year been for you emotionally?

A: I think you have to put your emotions aside and you have to coach your basketball team.

Spoken like the son of an undertaker that he is, putting your emotions aside and doing your job.

I hope Harkless reads that little blurb. Coach is absolutely right about the developmental league being littered with players that are in that 6'7 or 6'8 range. The key is the player needs to differentiate himself from the rest of the pack. If Moe comes back and really works on his mid-range game and learns to consistently knock down that 15 foot jump shot, it's going to be very hard to keep him out of the lottery in the 2013 NBA Draft.

Boeheim is probably reminded by a player who recently left his program prematurely. Does anyone remember Donte' Greene?

I wasn't particularly a fan of his game (I like Harkless' game), but he was a talented kid who left too soon. Maybe, his early departure could be still fresh in Boeheim's mind when speaking about Harkless.

Did you notice how he praised the ACC? He is already on board with the blood suckers.

Yes! That was the one thing that stuck out for me. How could he say the ACC has been the best conference for years? I wish I could find a quote where he says the Big East is the best conference. I'm sure it's out there somewhere. And I'm sure he'll be pushing to hold the ACC Tournament at the Garden.

i still think he's a condescending, arrogant putz. A good coach, but a condescending, arrogant putz.

Two things about his comments on the ACC.

1. He compared it geographically against the new-look Big East, and in that respect he is correct.

2. I think he knows the decision has been made, it happened above his pay-grade, and he is keeping his real thoughts to himself.

If the Big East was the "old" Big East, I think Jimmy b. would have not been able to hold back and would have told the truth: "he's a Big East lifer"!

I get that geographically, especially for football, the new Big East doesn't make all that much sense. But IMHO, it makes as little sense as having Pitt, Syracuse and BC in a conference consisting of Southern schools. At least you can make a case that BC is on the Atlantic Coast!

I also get that he had no choice in the decision and is keeping his real thoughts to himself. But he loses all credibility when he now says the ACC is the best conference and has been so for years. He could have kept that to himself too and his silence would have spoken volumes.
