Bob Hurley Sr.

Among many, the church turning its back on schooling those that need it most in favor of the bottom line is something to be very ahamed of; doing Jesus' work!!

Everyone always praises Hurley on redmen.com and for sure he's a great guy but I will be frank that program has done zero for St. Johns over the years. St. Anthony's success has benefited every program in the tri-state area with one glaring exception.

Steve and Bob get along quite well. See KA

As for the past... Lots of ups and downs with Hurley. Roshown disaster, Fran would kiss his ring, MJ certainly didn't and Norm was never a factor.

The same can be said of St. Rays HS in the Bronx, although they have had multiple coaches over the years.

Hurley was not happy with the school regarding the Ingram incident, either.

No we have had few SA players, but it is not like his players are only favoring one or two local schools. His players are spread out through many different schools.

Really? Really? Because last time I checked St. A's has been pretty helpful to local programs:

- Terry Dehere - Seton Hall
- Dan Hurley - Seton Hall
- Terrence Roberts - Syracuse
- Terry Walker - Seton Hall
- Mike Rosario - Rutgers (Transferred to Florida)
- Chris Gaston - Fordham
- Jimmy Hall - Hofstra
- Eli Carter - Rutgers
- Jio Fontan - Fordham
- Jerry Walker - Seton Hall

I could go on...

no one's denying he's been "helpful" to local programs. you left st john's off that list. that's the complaint.

We got McLeod and Ingraham. As for Hurley not being happy about the Ingraham situation it is safe to say he was upset with the player not SJU.

It's not his job to help any program. He stays true to his kids and helping a program would be a clear conflict of interest.

Seton Hall has gotten quite a few yes, but there have been others like Rivers, Anderson, Rhodes, Cheeks and others that have gone elsewhere. There are also others on your list who have left their original schools .

Didn't realize he was supposed to procure players for us.

Probably both.

Agree We should not need any help recruiting players WE pay good money for our coaching staff and they do fine

the vibe is he steers players AWAY from st john's.

i don't know how that's doing them any good.

if he has a vendetta, it's a mark on his record.

Well we have had a succession of pretty poor head coaches so if what you say is true hopefully it has come to an end.
