@CBTonNBC: Bill Sell: NCAA ‘not 100 percent accurate’ in Cheick Diallo rulings

Are we in the clear with Yakwe next season if the NCAA doesn't seem to think that 63 percent of Diallo's classes should count? I'd hate for Yakwe to do a year of college classes and then be told he's not allowed to play here.

Good question & concern. Getting partial Q status for Yakwe is crucial. NCAA aside, OSNA is a hornet's nest;

@NYPost_Brazille: According to Self nobody at OSNA told Diallo was under review by NCAA. Why am I not surprised knowing those coaches?

If I remember correctly, that's what happened with Walter Berry.

if I remember correctly. walter was admitted to sju under a ny state educational program that only ny & nj had in place. he attended sju for a year under that program but did not play basketball. at the beginning of walter's second year at sju, the ncaa still had not ruled on walter's playing status. faced with that walter went to texas for a year of community college basketball. walter did not want to not play for 2 years if the ncaa went against him. after one year at san jacinto, walter returned to sju.

Equally impressive was Walter's next return to SJU, to complete his bachelor's degree years later.

Ain't that The Truth

we should be focused on getting LoVett, Owens, Ponds and Yakwe school ready for next season. leave no doubt to any of the NCAAs mess. If Diallo becomes eligible, we should protest LoVett and Yakwe as well.

Agree with LoVett and Yakwe (and Ponds for that matter). Why should there be concerns regarding Owens? He was eligible last year as a Freshman and left Tennessee in good academic standing. As long as he does what he needs to do this year (just like the current players), he will be eligible.

The NCAA just cleared Diallo. It will be interesting to see what happens next.

Rumor has it that Norm said, "Yea, and clear Yakwe and Lovett too while you are at it."
