If you can still call it a bigesat classic. SNY is showing UCONN at St. Johns from Jan. 1999. Artest vs Hamilton.

Dont ruin the outcome for me.

The worst game I've ever attended.

Really? Not even close for me. It was an entertaing, competative game that didn't go our way in the end. IMO, that was Jim Calhoun's best team. Much better then many of the non-competative ones I've sat through over the years.

too many pbr's attended that afternoon. they were trash.

i remember that game as a kid and asked my dad why uncle phil was coaching st. john's. this game has been on so many times. They should put the st. john's pitt game from 2011 someday. it is definitely a classic.

I loved that team. I enjoyed that particular team more than any, other team since I've been a fan of St. John's.

You're right, in reference to SNY showing this game on several occasions.

those 2 years our passing was so good

Was thinking same thing as I watched. Forgot how good it was. Think Barkley, Artest and Jessie(and maybe Glover also) played together on same Riverside Church team for a number of years prior to coming to St. John's. So they knew each other's game in addition to the fact that they were all good passers. Postell was so much fun to watch. A lot of energy and athleticism.

The four of them were on the team, which I think went 88-0. If they lost, it was 1 game. We would have gotten a national championship if the fifth starter on team opted for us and not Duke.

That's right, Brand was on that team also. Don't remember him giving us to much of a look. Think last time we beat out Duke for a kid was a very long time ago, but it turned out pretty good for us.

We were a finalist for Brand, along with Duke, Virginia, and another school (can't remember the "other" school).

@LJSA: That particular Riverside team lost to an AAU team from out of Cali, which featured Baron Davis, Schea Cotton, along with a few others. Riverside played them again and spanked 'em by nearly 30 points.

Good reminder of just how good guys like Postell were...and Bootsy was a really smart player...no wasted mostion on putbacks

Remember being on his list, but don't remember him giving us strong consideration. Sort of like with Willie Dersh.

Ah, thanks. So there's the one game. I might be wrong, but I really don't think they lost outside of that, which is scary.

That was the ONLY game they lost. They were 88-1, if my memory serves me correctly.
