Per Andy Katz, Creighton has sold a record number of Big East tournament packages (2,100) for this year tourney. Only UConn in 2006 (2,200) sold more. I think the notion that our tournament won't sell out is a bit premature.

It is a record for the new Big East. :)

It's a pleasant surprise, but part of the reason they sold more is because there is more available for each school. This year you're only splitting the total # of tickets 10 ways as opposed to 16 or 12 ways in past years. I still say that when you look at the # of fans that will be in the building, it wont come very close to what we had in the old Big East.

I'm assuming the Creighton folks are flying, whereas the yukon fans either hitched or wagon trianed.
2,100 is very impressive

They were sent with season tickets. Deadline is like January 10th or something.
 
Creighton travels really well. I know someone from Omaha and they love their Creighton out there. Its pretty amazing for a school that has only 7500 students.

How did Uconn sell 2,200 then in 2006? Not being a wise arse...just don't know the answer.

If I lived in Omaha, I would also travel quite often.
