Big 10 Looking To Move To NYC

It's ridiculous that every conference is trying to raid another conference's territory. Aren't they big and rich enough? Also funny in the article is Coach K saying they won't schedule Maryland. The ACC unabashedly raids the Big East but they are upset that one of their own got picked off.

The bottom line is that the BCS conferences consider themselves all-powerful, and matters of ethics or the unwritten rules of respectful behavior toward other conferences simply do not apply to them.

Not to be picky, but was Louisville or Notre Dame really geographically Big East?

A lot of conferences have teams that are not really in their traditional geographic region. That is not really the point. TheBig 10 has never had a connection to NYC (or the east coast). Now they want to put their conference headquarters here and play conference championships in the east? Why? Big 10 is traditionally midwest, just as ACC id traditionally southeastern---even though they have BC. Big East was guilty of over-expanding too. We have/had midwestern and southern teams but you don't see us putting satellite offices on Tobacco Road.

The Big Ten is the top athletic conference in the country in terms of per school revenue in large part because of the Big Ten Network.

There are reports that the Big Ten media contract is up in 3+/- years and that for Fox Sports intends to bid high to out scoop ESPN. IMO it would greatly benefit the Big East is the Big Ten becomes its shared broadcast conference with the Big Ten.

Keep an eye on the outcome of the ACC lawsuit against the University of Maryland for $50M over Maryland's leaving the ACC for the Big Ten.

We don't go to Tobacco Road because we don't stand to make any money off of it. I don't find fault in the B10 wanting to put their offices/championship in NYC.
That's their prerogative.

All the more reason why it would be really nice if DePaul rose from the ashes...

The Big Ten romances NY...we romance Chicago... :cheer:
