Man do I dislike this Nova team and program.  What a blast it would be to send these entitled brats home tomorrow night.

Tough, smart, well coached team meriting our A game, but I too think we can compete with them if we avoid getting into jump shooting contest. Would love to see us drive the ball, run some stuff through the post and hopefully draw some fouls exposing their weakness, a very short bench. Tough task, but give it a shot guys!

Dixon prefers going to his left and finishing that way. Need to force him right in the post. coaches have to expose tendencies. and as we all know, don't bit on the pump fakes

Worst of all the potential matchups for us IMO but hey it's march and time to dream so " Why Not Us "

I'll be there tomorrow- if there is a Halftime spot to celebrate or drink our sorrows - let me know lol

Just look for Maher, tall guy holding six beers.

The referees will determine the outcome of this game.

Jay Wright is a very good lobbyist among the referees.

Quick whistles with ticket tacky fouls will cause Posh, Soriano, and Wheeler to the bench and help defeat the Johnnies.

Slower whistles from the refs will help Posh, Soriano, and Wheeler stay on the floor and give the Storm a legit chance.

I really don't understand those who say we have no half court offense.   This team can break down the defense for uncontested layups with deft passing and sharp cuts to the basket better than any Johnnies team since the Artest-Bootsy et al days.   The problem we have had is consistently making outside shots which forces defenses to spread the floor.   Nova will not be so easy to beat in a half court offense and will try to force us to burn seconds off the clock and then dare us to shoot over the zone.   If we take the shots they want us to take, they will win.   If we can better control the tempo, make good looks in the half court offense, it will spring guys for cuts to the basket and layups.

This IS a winnable game, but Jay Wright knows this and will have his guys prepared to play us as a very dangerous team in their BET hopes.   Nova should be favored, and I expect Nova to win.  Should we play well and get the shots we want on offense and defend reasonably well, there is a chance this game gets filed as one of our glory days type of wins.

BTW, very pro St. John's crowd at MSG - wish we had some of those who attended were with us all season.  Nova, UCONN, and SHU will be well represented at the Garden for certain.

Hoping for a continuation of last night but three things give me pause. Number one, we’ve been fooled by this team playing well before and the chances of them playing two games in a row at that level seems like just wishful thinking. Number two, Villanova will get every whistle. We know this. Nova is the big dog on the block and they get treated as such consistently by the refs and the league. Number three, Villanova made an early exit in last years BET and they will come out focused and ready to play. If we spot them a big lead like we usually do this game could be over quick.

I will be rooting like hell for our guys, taking all factors into consideration though, we’ll be lucky to keep this game to 10 points.

If Nova has Gillespie be the PG and Ball Handler , Posh , Wusu and Mathis need to hound him all 94 feet .  But , Wright can turn Him into the SG and have others bring the ball up .  We need to be ready for that .  Nova can win even if Gillespie doesn’t score much . The last game he was nursing a sore ankle and didn’t score a point . That’s not likely to happen again .  We have defend Dixon , Moore , Slader and Caleb vigorously and rebound .    We will need to play the game of the Season to beat the Cats . Even better than last night .   And , when was the last time we won 2 BE Tournament games to get to Friday?  I can’t even remember . It’s long overdue .

We swept the bottom BE teams except for depaul in Chicago.  Now is the time to finally put it all together against a top tier team in the BE.

We need to go for the extra pass ,hit the open man and it our shots.drive and dish get them in foul trouble, hit our free throws There is a lot to do,just let’s make it a game and represent the school well. no walk over make it a tough win or a respectable loss

With MSG prices for beer can’t afford spillage. Only hold 2 at a time:)

I think with the improvement and emergence of Nyiwe and Soriano, offensively, we need to play this game from the inside out. Nova is not a big team which is one of their only weaknesses. Dixon is only 6’8. Especially, with Nyiwe and Soriano’s ability to pass the ball. We need to get the ball inside in the half court offense when we can’t push the ball and have those guys take it strong or kick it out to Champagnie, Wheeler , Smith and/or Coburn for an open 3. If they close quick and the three is not there we will have the defense moving and we get the ball to Posh, Wusu or Mathis to drive to the rim because if we are playing inside out and moving the ball driving lanes will be there.

Jay working refs already. Please no ticky tack fouls early zebras.
