I was at MSG when we beat Creighton and Doug McDermott, when Jakarr Sampson shut him down.There were only about 8k people there, but it was one of the rowdiest, best SJU crowds I've experienced. Now if we can do that with 15k fans....

By shut him down I assume you're talking about that last play. McBuckets did go for 25 on 55% shooting that night. Checked the box score, officially 6,739 were there to see it.

I don't have the stats in front of me, but McDermott went something like 9 straight minutes in the second half without even getting a shot off. Jakarr was a defensive beast on him.

Whatever they did I remember it was significantly better than the first game at Creighton. I recall a lot of points and McD hitting the game winner.

Yes, we came back from a huge deficit in that game at Creighton, but McDermott beat us at the buzzer (I think it was Obekpa he beat).

The thing I remember most about the MSG game was the chants of "over-rated, over-rated" at McDermott in the second half. It was a nasty, bloodthirsty crowd and it was great stuff.
