Unless you invalidate the whole era, you can't simply invalidate Piazza based on superior performance. He hit well out of the gate, had no superhuman numbers or improvements that would support steroid use, and tailed off when catchers tail off in this era of conditioning and strength training. McGwire, Bonds, Sosa, Palmeiro, and Clemens all had that. If this was a snub because of doubts, for Piazza, that snub should only last one year. For the others, their enhanced performance is without question and they should get in one year after Pete Rose.
