Truthfully, the article is correct, painful as it to admit it..We haven't been competitive with the Orange in a real long time.. As a institution, we suffered more than many will likely admit with FH managing this University for as long as Louie has been gone..
The head guy always has to be the ultimate responsible party and FH really never captured what BB meant to this University and its Alums, Fans. He mismanaged the Fraschilla Firing, made a awful decision with others in hiring Jarvis and accepted a Coach, without resume in Roberts.. .It was enough to sink the ship.

We had a chance to be at bat a lot during FH'S tenure and never got to first base. Lavin was a hire that had spark, especially after turndowns from Donavan and Pitino. Maybe if Repole would have dangled Horses in front of Rick, who knows?
The jury is still out on Steve and a final verdict won't come in until March, when the NCAA bids come out.
As for Syracuse, until the game itself is played, we can hope to come away with a win... Hope is eternal

It was either 1987 or 1988 FH was in So Cal with Father Maher at an allumni function in a conversation Lou came up FM rolled his eyes. In what appeared to be agreement with FH expression. It wasn't until Lou retirement FH found a use for him as a frontman for contributions, It would appear that FH was of the opinion that basketball program was too important within the university.
Today the opprtunity to revive the basketball exist. As some have pointed out on this board the university could still utilize stipend program.
