Bashir Ahmed: X-Factor (NY Post Article)

I think Bash is under appreciated. Making the transition from Juco to Div 1 takes time. I think next year w Bash and Clark, we will be ok at the 4. If Yakwe last game wasn't an aberration, he and Owens can man the 5. A grad transfer would be nice. But next year may not be as bad w the bigs as we think , regardless. Let's hope we get no major defections.

Was named to BE Honor Roll, good for him! Next year he'll blossom IMO.

Yesterday, in face of Johnnies being short on interior w/o Williams, he really provided physicality & battled all day. Yes he has his warts, but he has very played well of late. If he can continue to draw contact on drives & make FTs as noted above, that is huge on several levels including getting opponents in foul trouble, getting in bonus sooner & increasing his confidence. Streaky on threes, but sure hit a timely one yesterday. Glad we have him.

He's still out of control at times. Yesterday we saw the two sides of Bash: in the first half the old out of control forced drives into traffic, in the second half the in controled Bash with purposeful drives, better shot selection, tough D and rebounding due to KY's box-outs. :) ;)
