2023 $upporter 2023 Pickem Regular Season Champion 2022 $upporter
For sake of some, wanted a specific place to talk about lead guard targets AND options. I think many believe this is the most important piece moving forward. Mod's if this completely F's things up go ahead and delete it.

I think there's a few categories to look at. Probably guys I'm missing as well.

Top Tier
  • Silas Demary (Georgia)
  • Jaland Lowe (Pitt)
  • Hopefully more like Bruce Thornton enter

High Major below Top Tier
  • Malachi Smith (Dayton)
  • Nick Boyd (SDST)
  • Tre Holloman (MSU)
  • Frankie Collins (TCU)

Lower Level
  • Adaa Njie (Iona)
  • JJ White (Omaha)

My Question is how long is the staff willing to stay in the hunt for some of the Top Tier guards, while potentially letting some from the other tiers get gobbled up around the country. I would take any of the three middle guys and be happy with the add. I would be ecstatic if we were able to convince one Top Tier or two from the other tiers to come as a tandem.

What makes portal season fun and addictive, and also impossible to speculate on, is that we don't know the real $$$s and we don't know who the staff has in mind that can portal. I think we should assume this will go into May.

And there’s always the random late coaching change that throws guys into the portal mix out of nowhere.

I just don’t think Pitino wants to risk waiting around and getting left without a legit option. Who am I kidding tho, he knows that.

Only reason I don't agree is that they let Silas leave his visit yesterday. You'd think you just pay the 2m and move on.

Seemed like he was set on his visits. Not sure it was an option unless they went way over the ask or kidnapped him 😂. Plus a couple days or a week + is one thing, you mentioned May.

lots of other options for him still, since at present not much competition for him, some team may and probably bid up.

And why grabbing two major guys in Sanon & B Hop early is such a plus. Both can possibly help in attracting others. Just an excellent portal start for us and seeds were planted for above two guys way before entry date. There is a lot of jealousy & rock throwing about us out there, but tells me on the heels of a great turn around season, we are really turning heads. Been a while, but love it.
