3 key stats for this team but nothing more consistent and clear than where St John's has good ball movement/assists, they win. (you could call this team ball, good chemistry - less "hero ball")

St. John's has won every game where it has had more assists than its opponent and lost every game with low assist numbers. (CSUN game where SJU won but looked lethargic had the lowest number of assists in a win at 14 -CSUN with only 7. The season high of 27 assists came in the best game to date on the road @ Syracuse)

Average number of assists in
WINS: 21
LOSS: 11

The margins for wins and losses are:
Assists:
Won: + 9.5
Lost: - 6

In every win St John's has also out-rebounded the opponent with the exception of Syracuse and out-rebounded MN, LIU and VCU in losses.
Av #
WON: 39
LOST: 38

The rebounding margins for wins and losses are:
WON: +5 (Fordham game +20)
LOST: -4 (MSU and ODU were -20)

In every win St. John's has had less turnovers than the opponent except Fordham.
Turnovers:
The average number for Turnovers:
WON: 11
LOST: 15

The Turnover margins for wins and losses are:
WON: +3 (3 less than opponent)
LOST: -1 (1 more than opponent)

There is no doubt that this team has shown two sides and if the side that played v Tulane, Fordham and Syracuse shows up more often then the team can maybe win as many as 6 or so BE games. But that team has to show up at the right times because against other good teams that good side still won't have much of a chance to win.

Big East is brutal. I'm going to take it one game at a time but hard to see 6 from here.

Agree. Things would have to go perfectly. three seems more realistic.

G'town and Marquette both look beatable despite having a lot more size/athleticism. A lot of sloppy undisciplined play.

Never been an assist than didnt turn into at least 2 points!

Well, maybe 6. ;)

Broke the trends in Butler game. Only 5 assists still get the win also shot only 25% from 3. with 11 less shots than Butler, 54% FG/78% FT was the difference

OK maybe 2 on the road and 5 at home makes 7. Let's get greedy.

When Austour increases his expectations 2 consecutive games there is reason for concern. ??

I would be disappointed if we can't get at least 4 more wins if we stay healthy and without drama which are both big ifs. I am certainly hoping for more more than 4 as well.

I love Ahmed's 3 point stroke but the staff needs to work with him on the rest of the game. If they can cut his turnovers down and get him the ball inside for some easy baskets he can be a lot better by the end of the season and he isn't bad now.

I also think Sima leaving and Mussini getting hurt has forced Mullin to cut down his rotation and miraculaously find Williams.
