Per Zags, Pankey is transferring from Maryland (citing family reasons).

Jeff Goodman says, "My guess is Iona"

Thought they had no scholarships left according to Baldi (or whateer screen name he goes by here).

I think its Ricky Martin.

Since he is local.maybe lavs could get him to walkon for a year. Crgreen said he has a knack for that

Who thinks we should take Pankey if he wants us Or wait for NCAA and put our eggs in Chandlers basket

Doesn't matter since staff was preparing for Chandler and Nolan.

Exactly!!

Well, not exactly. If Darrick is signed and eligible there is only one more ship left. When it was Chandler AND Nolan it appeared that it was Hooper OR Wood. At least that's the way I understand it.

I haven't heard anyone say definitively that Hooper is on a scholarship. The actions of the staff seem to indicate that we have two ships to give this year. I think Pankey would be a terrific addition--especially if he could get a waiver.

He redshirted as a freshman and he played solid minutes for a good team last year He could have as many as three years of eligibility and he'd be a fourth-year sophomore next season if he couldn't get the waiver. Not a star, but a kid that could give us 20 mpg.

Didn't he have to sign an LOI or something to be on that press release they issued announcing the 6 signees (Darrick wasn't part of that release) and if he did have to sign an LOI wouldn't that mean he's on scholarship? Confused myself now.

I believe Pankey started at Molloy. Asked to leave. Something with a cell phone. Maybe he cleaned up his act.

I tend to forgive guys who were clean before and after an isolated incident. He didn't rape anyone or get caught dealing drugs or beat someone up, so for me personally, that incident is barely a blip from several years ago. If Hurley thought his character was OK, it's OK for me.

I'd love to have him here, but I wish him well wherever he goes.

From the first article listed earlier:

But Pankey struggled at times with his confidence and consistency. Head Coach Mark Turgeon went so far to say Pankey played "brain-dead" at times. "Ashton's got to figure another way to help us. We can't sit around and sulk and pout," Turgeon said to the Baltimore Sun. "We've talked at length with Ashton about it. We need him to play well for us to win a game like that. We're trying with him. We just keep plugging."

He acknowledged the struggles with his confidence; against Virginia, he played six minutes and had notable difficulties

The comments by the Coach are concerning.................
