Article: SJU Showing Poise & Promise

Love Harrison's quote about being thankful that Lavin suspended him.

As usual I can`t my own threads lol Why is that?
So here`s my post about league play.

First, we have to beat Columbia and go to 9-3. That wouldn`t be a preseason failure since I gave SJU a slipup since they always have one, can`t say it`s a success either. A success would have been no slipups, so it`s somewhere in the middle.
8-4 would be a big FAILURE in preseason play.

Now on to league play.

We need a split at Xavier and Georgetown, can not start in a 0-2 hole.

Vs. Villanova, I`d say that`s a must win. We need a top10 win, we already lost to Wisconsin and Syracuse.
SJU thinks they`re big boys now, then no excuses you need to beat the big boys.
Plus the first new BE game at the Garden, I want that game. That would be 2-1.

@ DePaul, if we beat Nova I still would get satisfied. I`d wait till after this game just to see if they could put the Nova game out of their mind and come correctly @ DePaul. If they could do that then to me that would be a huge step up in becoming a big time school.
3-1

I`d certainly start feeling good at 3-1 and the next 2 games at home vs. Pc and SHU. 5-1

That would be huge with the next 3 being @ Butler and Creighton the home against Marquette who I wouldn`t sleep on.

I just figured to get conf talk started since it`s only a week away.

Very excited for the Xavier game. Need to play well against Columbia as we have no room for error. With the Jordan mystery, I would like to see Branch get solid play. We need a point guard if we are going to make the NCAA's and he is the only one in the lineup without Jordan. Of course, I am hoping for Jordan's return.

Don't think you'll get your wish.
He started Felix in Jordan's absence and Branch played a total of 15 whopping minutes.

Lavin makes changes faster then the temperature has changed the last few days. I think Branch will be in the starting lineup Saturday.
