You gotta love the part where it says Dunlap takes a player out who shows reluctance. These guys will grow up very fast.

This is the kind of coverage you get in New York. At places like Iowa St. and San diego St. they have cows and trained dolphins reading their player coverage. In Vegas all they care about is the line and whether UNLV covers. The NBA is headquartered in Rockefeller center .and their "in the know" people go the BE Garden games. No fishtails, cowflop or betting tickets on their shoes. Just fresh thoughts about new young players that they pass along to people who matter - not mobsters, fishermen or farmers.. So come on down y'all and join the Big Apple festivities. You will never be overlooked in this city and that's what it's all about.

This is a St. John's dedicated blog - has nothing to do with New York or podunk. Don't think Kawhi Leonard was hurt by playing at San Diego St. last year. Somehow the scouts found him all the way in podunk and he's in the NBA this year.

Gee, and I thought you were a Saint John's Fan.....Yeah San Diego St. is the place to go. Yeah man, cool! Maybe the Clippers will even be decent this year but who's going to skip three hrs in the sun to find out?

Nice site but Rumble in the Garden is just another blog started by a poster from this board or the jungle as a resume builder for a career in IT or journalism or both. Even if well written it's not real media coverage any more than other simply worded regurgitations of board fodder.

And Bobre's lived his long distinguished life with his head in the sand believing it's still 1972 as far as media is concerned. Don't ruin his fantasy.

The point is that Mike or i or any fan of any other program could do the same thing - and literally thousands are including at SDSU and ISU no doubt. With a little bit of effort and some SEO skills they might even get into quadruple digits as far as readers so let's not pretend it's the NY Post or ESPN.com.

St. John's is certainly a good stage to play on due to the area, the coaching staff, MSG and being in the Big East. No doubt about it.

I also have to laugh at the bolded quote. LOL I think that has to be an act of his. It has to be. No way someone can have that train of thought nowadays. If so, then it's very antiquated and narrow minded. Not to mention, there are tons of evidence and proof that you don't have to play in NYC to get rave reviews and get noticed.

Nice article, but it's ridiculous to write that anyone close to the program thought Harrison was just a set-up shooter. The kid's highlight tapes have him knifing through defenses more than shooting the ball and he flashed insane body control, ability to seek and score after contact, and to pull up off the bounce.
